Testing a newly created mail account's forward or alias? Have Gmail?

For us, setting up an email account is a fairly straight forward process. When you request a forward or alias we will point your account to exactly where you want us to. So make sure that you have spelled it correctly. A lot of requests for forwards/alias' are pointed to gmail accounts so here's a tip for sending a test message from Google mail:
Do: Create a fresh message or better yet mail a test message from a different mail account.
Don't: Please do not re-forward a message that has already been forwarded from the newly created account. Gmail flags your test message as spam and you won't receive it back. This will cause you to think that it isn't set up correctly and consequently a needless ticket will be created.
