MAC Mail App Configuration

1. Open the app for Mail, this triggers a new tab to open at the top of your screen

2. At the top of the screen where File etc are, click Mail

3. Click Add Account

4. Click Other Mail Account and the Continue button

5. Fill in your name, email adress eg. yourname@yoursite.com, and the password of your email account and click Sign In

6. Email Address should be populated, and User Name leave set to Automatic

7. Account Type IMAP

8. Incoming Mail Server mail.techsurgeons.com

9. Outgoing Mail Server mail.techsurgeons.com

10. Click Sign In

11. Click Done


At this point you are finished so go open up the Mail app and click on the envelope in the upper left hand corner to refresh the mailboxes and sync in your email account.



Should there be an issue with the automatic port settings, please continue on to manually set them up:



1.Go back to the top tab Mail

2. Click Preferences

3. Click @ Accounts

4. Click on the email account name you just previously created

5. Go to the Server Settings Tabs to the right and click it

6. Under Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) un-click the box that says Automatically Manage Connection Settings

7. Port 993 or 143

8. Authentication Password

9. Under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) un-click the box that says Autimatically Manage Connections Settings

10. Port 465 or 2525 or 25  **Note, port 25 is commonly blocked for spam by many ISP's so use the others first

At this point you are finished so go open up the app and click on the envelope in the upper left hand corner to refresh the mailboxes and sync in your email account.
